Happy Friday!
This week, EJ and Myndi are looking to the future for their Moments of Joy. Summer programming is about to kick into high gear, and we couldn’t be more excited. Some of our old favorites are returning – Don Draper, Brock Samson, The Kids in the Hall, Julie Chen, the Big Balls, Bender – and there are some intriguing looking newcomers, too. (A new Betty White comedy? Sold!)
Here are a few of the shows we’re counting on to provide Moments of Joy all summer long. Let’s face it – when the summer schedule puts both Louis C.K. and Shaquille O’Neal on the grid, it’s going to be something special.
Last Comic Standing (NBC, Monday 8 PM) – This show apparently took last season off, although we admit we didn’t even notice. Many who’ve watched it over the years feel the original season was by far the best, in terms of who was cast and the group dynamic that existed (six words: Dave Mordal, Rich Voss, hot tub.) and no season since has even close to lived up to that. The only thing that’s been consistent about the show is that the winners are usually sub-par. The season premiere gave us a few chuckles and we like the new group of judges a lot, plus having Dunder Mifflinite Craig Robinson as the host is a bonus, so we’ll stay tuned for now.
