The Dark Knight Rises – A Brief History of Selina Kyle

Well, you are in luck.  Even though both Bane and Selina have appeared in previous Batman movies, the versions on display were a little, well, off.

Before we get into it, there’s one key fact to remember.  Selina Kyle is better known in the Bat-mythos as Catwoman.  However, Nolan didn’t say that Anne Hathaway was playing Catwoman, he said she was playing Selina Kyle.  I don’t think it’s necessarily a safe assumption that Catwoman is definitely going to be in the movie.  Most reports have leapt to that conclusion, though.  Nolan’s played around with expectation for as long as he’s been affiliated with Batman.  The minor character named Victor Zsasz in the first movie doesn’t turn out to Mr. Zsasz, the serial killer who keeps a tally of his victims on his body.  And while there is a character in Batman’s past named Ducard, and a guy named Ra’s al Ghul, they are not in any way connected and definitely didn’t both turn out to be the same guy.
