Basically this means that next week, for the first time since the late 70’s, there won’t be any new comics shipping to retailers.You wouldn’t think this would be a big deal, but for the comic stores, it is. The margins are razor-thin in this business, and most stores make their nut on Wednesdays, when the new books hit the shelves. Take that away, and it’s going to be a dire week for the retailers. For a lot of stores, it’s going to be hard to keep the lights on next week.
