The Cape – A Look at TV’s Best (and Worst) Superheroes

On Sunday NBC premieres The Cape, a new superhero drama.  Only time will tell if the series will be more Season One of Heroes than Season Four, but we’re suckers for superheroes.  And of course, this got us to thinking about the highs and lows of TV’s original superheroes.  We’ve got a list of the five best heroes, the ones who we’d pick to save the day, and the five worst.  Frankly, we’d rather work out our problems on our own than have those guys get involved.  And remember, these lists are limited to characters who were created for television (and made their first appearances on TV – we don’t feel like having to deal with the Batgirl issue).  A character from comic books who later appears on TV is ineligible, because otherwise the Top 5 would just be Batman’s name five times.

  1. You know what might have made Ghettoman even more offensive? If he’d had a partner named Warsaw Ghetto Man and his super power was sending back soup in a deli or something. I can’t believe that even existed!
