The Cape – A Look at TV’s Best (and Worst) Superheroes

3.  The Powerpuff Girls – They’ve dropped off the radar in the last couple of years, but Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup used to regularly save the city of Townsville from giant monsters and super-intelligent chimps.  I loved creator Craig McCracken’s minimalist art style (the girls don’t even have fingers!), and the writing was usually really clever and funny.  Plus, flying girls punching monsters never gets old.  If you’re not convinced that the Girls belong on the list, let me submit this into evidence – one of their archenemies was the actual devil (always referred to in the show as simply “Him”), and he wasn’t their main villain!

  1. You know what might have made Ghettoman even more offensive? If he’d had a partner named Warsaw Ghetto Man and his super power was sending back soup in a deli or something. I can’t believe that even existed!
