BEST SPINOFF (THEORETICAL) – In Lost’s Timeline X, James “Sawyer” LeFleur and Miles Straume were police detectives, and it was awesome. We would absolutely watch a weekly series about these two. The fact that ABC didn’t immediately launch this as a spinoff makes us think that they don’t like money and ratings.
BEST RESURRECTION – Our first winners are the cast of Futurama, who were figuratively resurrected from cancellation when they returned to Comedy Central with new episodes this year, and in a more literal sense when Professor Farnsworth brought them all back to life after they died in a spaceship crash. (He used stem cells, which are less controversial in the 31st Century because they come from adults and also, shut up.) The actual resurrection made for a great episode that, like so many of the great Futurama episodes, is made more complicated by the fact that the Professor forgets key pieces of information. We’re glad to see the Planet Express crew back on TV again, and hope they get a long run on their new network.
