THING WE’RE ASHAMED TO LOVE AS MUCH AS WE DO – This season of Big Brother was a mess, with too much douchiness and far too much Brigade for our taste, and we got really tired of everybody who wasn’t Britney. But at least this season introduced us to ZingBot 3000, who is an insult comedy robot. Even better, he made multiple appearances! We can only assume that the production crew just got slap-happy as the season went on, but we don’t care. ZingBot 3000 pretty much made the season for us.
BEST AWARDS SHOW OPENING–We love award shows more than almost anyone we know, and the Emmys is sort of our Superbowl. We didn’t know if Jimmy Fallon would be a good host or an awkward one, but right out of the gate he had us with his opening number, a tribute to Glee. It featured several Glee actors, including Jane Lynch, as well as Tina Fey, Jon Hamm, Betty White, Joel McHale and Jorge Garcia. The whole bit, which culminated in a live performance of “Born To Run” at the Kodak Theater, was so great that we didn’t even mind that Kate Gosselin somehow weaseled her way into it.
