BEST STEALTH CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT – We love Tracy’s entourage on 30 Rock – Grizz and Dotcom. Those guys are always great for a laugh. For the last couple of seasons, they’ve been slowly building up the idea that Dotcom is a serious artist. We’ve seen that he’s a dramatic actor and a director (he put on a performance of Angels in America that Tracy found hilarious), and now he’s a screenwriter. He somehow took control of Tracy’s production company, Dotcom Productions (which Tracy thinks is “Tracy Jordan spelled backwards”), and created Let’s Stay Together (which is not just about a family trying to stay together, but a nation). Of course, Tracy got involved and decided the show needed a talking dog. But we don’t think we’ve seen the last of Dotcom’s artistic aspirations, which started as a side joke and turned into the defining aspect of his character without us even noticing.
