I’m not sure that Sorkin meant to imply that it’s our moral imperative to stay in Iraq for as long as necessary, given what I know of his politics, but that’s what the ending would have you believe. The last ten minutes felt, to me, like FOX News had somehow taken over production.Ultimately, it’s not a bad movie, but the attempts to simplify history range from sloppy to offensive. For all their attempts to create something deep and important, “Charlie Wilson’s War” is almost breezy. Take out that refugee camp scene, and you’ve got yourself a date movie.
