Brandy & Maks (23)–I think this is the closest we might have to a ringer this season. Their waltz is straightforward and lovely. Oh goody, Ray J is there to infect the audience! Carrie Ann says Brandy’s lines are beautiful but her dancing’s very strong and may have to be softer at times. Len thought she made an amazing first impression. Bruno makes an inappropriate comment about a “taste of Brandy” that only he he can get away with. She’s a frontrunner. And she’s excited.
Kyle Massey & Lacey (23)–Their cha cha cha starts out by a set of lockers to help emphasize that Kyle is crazy young. With the help of Lacey–who is all about stalking the camera–Kyle sells the crap out of it, making up for any issue of technique by really performing it with conviction and style. Carrie Ann says he’s her first crush of the season. Predictably, Len hated the business with the locker, but he liked the rest. He says Kyle will go a long way. Bruno calls Kyle a naughty little…something, and says he wants to take him home. So, he has a crush, too, then? For her part, Brooke mispronounces Kyle’s last name. Good job preparing there, Brookie.
