All right, it’s time for some dancing!
Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff (48/60) – Ralph is still hurting, and you can see him wince when Karina explains that there are three dances this week. I could go the rest of my life without Ralph talking about how he needs to be more hip-hop. Karina gives him a fake ass, which really makes me laugh. I’m easy that way.
Their first dance is the Argentine Tango. They start out dancing with their chairs. I’m a sucker for a Tango, and this has some good bits, but it’s clear that Karina is running the show. That shouldn’t be happening this late in the game. Ralph’s just there as a frame. There’s a run where his footwork is really rough, too – he gets out of synch with Karina pretty noticeably. Plus, he just doesn’t have Tango Intensity. This one really didn’t do anything for me. It was just kind of gumpy, which is not a word, but if you saw it you know what I mean.
