Toni Braxton is up and she is best known for the song “Unbreak my Heart” and selling 40 million records. She also has a heart disease called microvascular angina, and that really sounds like competitive dancing might not be the best thing, but I have to assume she has a good cardiologist who said it was OK. She says she’s doing this to get over the fears she has since her diagnosis. I definitely respect her bravery. In rehearsal, she’s wearing legwarmers, so that’s awesome.
They do a cha cha cha to “Smooth”, using a small hat as an opening prop. The sucky singer has me appreciating the dulcet tones of Rob Thomas, which I never thought I’d say. I’m nervous, since I’ll always be afraid of Toni having an episode on Live TV. I mean, after Marie, anything can happen. She’s actually quite good, however, and has great chemistry with her partner, Alec Mazo. Then again, I think a coatrack would have chemistry with Alec.
