Lil Kim and Derek (26/30) Derek is charged with toning down Kim’s sexiness this week for the rumba, which seems counterintuitve any way you slice it. He’s putting more pressure on himself to make the choreography entertaining and technical at the same time, since they have to make Len happy to get a perfect score. I wasn’t sure using Robin Thicke’s “Lost Without You” would help tone anything down, but it didn’t hurt. Kim seems really nervous and anxious throughout, but certainly does a good job, including being at a 90 degree angle at one point. Carrie Ann was underwhelmed, and Len agrees. Bruno says taking the raunch out of Lil Kim is like “having a margarita with no tequila”, so she should bring it back. I’m not sure why she’s so focused on the judges, really. She’s always going to do fairly well, so why not continue to endear herself to the audience?
