When they are introduced to dance the Paso Doble, Marissa is almost a different person, so in character is she. She does a pass by crossing the floor on her knees, executes the dance equivalent of a trust fall and and shoots through Tony’s legs near the end. She is intense throughout and her dancing is much more precise than it’s been. As soon as they’re done, her serious demeanor gives way to her usual grin. Debbie Gibson is giving her a standing ovation. Tony is ready to defend her from Carrie Anne, but she counters by saying she thought it was fantastic and a whole different Marissa. Len says “well done” and Bruno compliments her on taking risks. Marissa looks visibly relieved and backstage she revels in the scores, her best yet.
Scores: Carrie-Ann—8 Len—8 Bruno—8 Total: 24
