Kym and Warren, meanwhile, are celebrating topping the leaderboard. And they should, as Len selects them for the encore. It’s a cool Paso, but they still have a couple issues with that final flourish, not that it matters.
Our first two safe couples are announced. Toni and Alec are safe first, which is nice for her. I think this is Alec’s best showing since the halcyon days of Kelly Monaco! Rocco and Karina and the first surprise reprieve, although I thought they did a better job than their scores. I guess I’m not alone. Dammit, he’s growing on me. Karina, by the by, is jumping up and down. In the bumper to commercials, there are some backstage close ups on Jessica Simpson as well as the pro dancers here for the big showstopper we’ve been promised. The two female leads and the choreographer are scaring me. I feel a little bit like I should be looking for Tony Manero in Stayin’ Alive for some reason.
