FlashForward 1-10 “A561984″
Mark and Janis present Dom with the satellite photos of Somalia, but Janis says they’ve obscured the details, since they’re classified. Dom then explains how he can tell it’s Somalia. Hee. They zoom in to show the towers, and Dom thinks they’re messing with him – it’s his design. It’s a specialized pulse laser for a plasma afterburner. Sure it is. He thinks the photos are fake, since the technology doesn’t exist yet to actually build those things. He designed them in 1992, but the photograph was taken in 1991. This throws Dom off, understandably. He thinks it’s especially weird that whoever built them didn’t seek recognition at all. Stanford shows Dom a sketch of D. Gibbons, who now apparently has the first name “Deacon”. By the way, the dossier gives D. Gibbons’ birthplace as “Bozeman, Montana”, which is totally where I was born! Strangely, they go on to explain that they don’t know his real name, but they know he was awake during the Blackout. How do they have all of that information in the dossier? Was that just filler text that I paused on for too long? After explaining D. Gibbons, Dom breaks it down – he’s a techie, chess-playing, social misfit physicist, which doesn’t really narrow the field down.
