Previously on FlashForward: Stanford blackmailed the President, Mark admitted he’ll be drinking in the future, and Janis took a bullet. Also, there was karaoke and the most awesome slo-mo gunfight ever.
Now, since this episode is titled “Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps)”, my natural inclination is to pack it full of David Bowie references. However, I’ve actually done that twice before. So, you know, I think it’s best if I just Move On. (See what I did there?)
Hey, it’s Dominic Monaghan, and he’s on a train, trying to pick up a woman by claiming he knows what caused the Blackout. By the way, we’re told the train is bound for Los Angeles, and you’d think he’d be a little bit wary of that destination. He tells her to look up “Quantum Physicist Genius” on Google and see that his picture is the first to come up. She’s impressed, but then he turns it into a pickup line. She wants the real explanation, and he turns it into Schrödinger’s Cat. This is one of my favorite things ever, and I think I’ve referenced about a dozen times in other recaps. A couple of years ago, I was quoted in the LA Times comparing the finale of The Sopranos to Schrödinger’s Cat. This cat and I go way back.
