Further complicating things, each country performs native dances. From a Chinese fan dance, to an Argentinian tango, to the dude from America who did the Robot for ten minutes. It’s hard to compare things that are completely dissimilar. This makes for confusing judging. Certain dances are harder than others, some dances are more visually interesting, and some are just too weird and specialized for people who don’t understand the dance to properly judge. To me, Riverdance is like flan: There’s very little difference between good and bad.
