The Best Shows on TV

Moments of Joy: The Ballad of Princess Tinyfeet

And for all the reasons EJ mentioned (guy won’t let me get a word in edgewise!) I feel like those days are long gone.  As clunky as some of those attempted spin-offs were, they at least made some sense in those realities.  More and more today, each show has its own universe and its best not muck it up. Although I love the House/Glee idea!

But, what I do miss and recall fondly, was the way spin-offs used to happen like crazy in the 70s, and they were good.  My favorite chain of spin-offs starts with All In the Family, which begat Maude, The Jeffersons, Archie Bunker’s Place and Gloria.  And then Maude begat Good Times.  How cool that you could take all of those sitcoms (well, you could probably skip Gloria) and trace them back to Archie Bunker’s beat up old armchair?  I love TV.
