The Office – This week’s episode was a big one, so consider this a SPOILER WARNING. Not only did Michael propose to Holly, but the episode set up Steve Carell’s upcoming departure from the series. Michael’s initial plans didn’t work out so well (writing your proposal in gasoline and lighting it is not a great idea), but the actual moment (directed by Steve Carell himself) was surprisingly beautiful. After walking a gauntlet of candle-holding Dunder Mifflinites who all proposed to her, Holly reached the annex, where Michael had set up hundreds of candles. Of course, this set off the sprinklers, which made for a clever homage to Jim and Pam’s rain-soaked proposal.
