They ended up at the weirdest bed and breakfast ever, with dolls in every room and dozens of cats roaming the grounds. Even the promise of German muffins (“What the f*ck is a German muffin?”) didn’t make up for all the cat hair and cat pee and cats. Oh, Ann and Chris talked about their relationship, and once again Ann misread all of the signals. (If Rob Lowe leaves this show for Two and a Half Men, we will LITERALLY die.) And fan-favorite DJ Roomba made his second appearance. We could not ask for anything more.
How I Met Your Mother–This week’s episode was entitled ”Legendaddy”, and it was one of the best outings of the season. Barney at last met his long-lost father, played by the incomparable John Lithgow. To hear Barney tell it, he was a tour manager for Bon Jovi who ordered great drinks and picked up babes just like his offspring. In reality, he was a drivers ed instructor who lived in White Plains with his wife and two kids. Barney went from being disappointed in his dad to angry and resentful at the childhood he’d missed out on. Neil Patrick Harris played all of the nuances of this perfectly. The rest of the gang was supporting Barney, but also pointing out each others flaws. Lily can’t toss things to people even if they’re inches away. Robin thinks the North Pole is not real. And Ted pronounces “chameleon” as “Cham-A-Leon”. Ha!
