What made us happy this week? We’re glad you asked…
Archer – This week’s episode sent Archer to Russia, in a follow-up to last season’s finale in which Archer tried to discover the identity of his father. His plan went bad in a hurry, and ISIS didn’t have any agents who could extract him, so Mallory brought in ODIN’s Barry, the guy who Archer has “emotionally and physically crippled”. (Over the last two seasons, Archer slept with Barry’s fiancée and dropped him off a building.) Besides the fact that these two guys who openly hate each other had to work together, the best bits came from Archer’s contempt for Russia. Best line – “Those can’t be your best shoes. What am I saying? This is Russia – people probably come from miles around to have their pictures taken with your shoes.” And some of our favorite running jokes popped up again – the black turtlenecks, finding out that Brett (the agent who always gets hit by stray shots) has to get around in a Rascal now, and of course Ray’s favorite epithet. Dukes! The two-parter ends next week with the season finale, which looks like it will be violent, hilarious, and sexy. We’re pretty excited!
