Raising Hope – A bunch of our favorites made guest appearances this week. When Burt’s nephew, Mike, stopped by after falling in with “a group of like-minded people”, he brought along his new wife, played by Mary Lynn Rajskub of 24 and Mr. Show. Complicating things were his three “brother-husbands”. Yes, they were reverse polygamists. The group announced plans to divorce Mike, since he didn’t seem that into the other brother husbands. And then it turned out Jimmy was a perfect fir for their group, and he nearly ended up as a brother-husband himself. (Jimmy’s a soft touch for cults – he once joined a group that worshipped Josh Groban, though he wasn’t that into it. Swear to Josh.) Paul F. Tompkins, one of the best stand-up comics around, played a member of the harem, and J.K. Simmons (of Spider-Man, Juno, and about a million other things) appeared as Burt’s brother. They made great additions to the cast, and we will forever treasure the image of Garret Dillahunt fighting J.K. Simmons in a mattress store. Raising Hope is just the right mix between weird and sweet, and it’s one of the most fun shows around.
Okay, I loved Raising hope this week. I thought the Brother Husbands was classic. I just posted a blog about that before reading this.
Also I am going to have check out Justified on Fx.

Thank you! And that’s a nice Raising Hope write-up on your blog! That wasn’t a show I expected to be as good as it is, and I just love it every week.
Thanks for reading – based on your blog, it looks like we enjoy a lot of the same shows. We’re TV Buddies!
