Oz – Yes, we know HBO’s prison drama went off the air in 2003, but these days you can’t flip through the channels without hitting an ex-con. The always great J.K. Simmons popped up on Raising Hope and just when we were thinking how great it was to see the Oz star again, it suddenly hit us that we’ve been seeing Oz stars everywhere. Eamonn Walker and Reg E. Cathey have been tearing it up on Lights Out. And this week saw the premiere of Breakout Kings, headlined by Domenick Lombardozzi, who at least made it a couple of episodes on Oz before getting killed off. Hot in Cleveland namedropped Ernie Hudson. Lance Reddick and Kirk Acevedo are regulars on Fringe, Dean Winters is doing those hilariously deadpan insurance ads where he plays Mayhem… Heck, we even spotted Mark Margolis and Bobby Cannavale over on Blue Bloods and Lee Tergesen on Army Wives. For the last couple of weeks, the TV schedule has been a veritable OzFest!
Okay, I loved Raising hope this week. I thought the Brother Husbands was classic. I just posted a blog about that before reading this.
Also I am going to have check out Justified on Fx.
Im starting to love the weekend review
Thank you! And that’s a nice Raising Hope write-up on your blog! That wasn’t a show I expected to be as good as it is, and I just love it every week.
Thanks for reading – based on your blog, it looks like we enjoy a lot of the same shows. We’re TV Buddies!
