The Best Shows on TV

The Best TV Shows on TV: TV’s Moments of Joy “It’s Friday! Friday!”

The fight itself was very impressive – it took up most of the second half of an episode, and was virtually indistinguishable from an actual boxing match.  And it was brutal.  As expected, Lights barely held it together in the first round, taking blow after blow.  But somehow, it started to turn around.  Powered by nothing more than the belief that winning the fight would solve everything, Lights overcame the odds.  By the third round, I was standing up and yelling at the screen, in a way that I have never once done for an actual boxing match.  There was so much emotional and dramatic weight in every punch – for one guy, it was only a matter of pride.  For the other, it meant literally everything.  And when Lights knocked Reynolds out, it was absolutely glorious.  It was the biggest emotional release of the season, executed perfectly.
