The Best TV Shows on TV – TV’s Moments of Joy: The Burn Unit

Batman:  The Brave and the Bold – Batman kicked off his final season by introducing the big guy to Brave and the Bold.  Superman made his first appearance on the show, and it was definitely worth the wait.  Clark brought his whole supporting cast along for the ride, which meant we got to see Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, Perry White, and Lex Luthor.  For added fun, exposure to Red Kryptonite turned Superman into a bully, which let them play with the “Superman is a dick” Internet meme from some years back and incorporate references to a bunch of classic Silver Age stories.  And then when Batman showed up to stop him, wearing the armor from Dark Knight Returns, the episode turned into an homage to an entirely different era.  And in the end, it’s one of Superman’s most maligned powers that saves the day.  This episode was really fun, and it made us sad that Brave and the Bold is nearing the end.
