6. Cougar Town – One of our all-time favorite shows is Freaks and Geeks, and we’re ridiculously happy whenever we see one of its stars in a new role. That’s the main reason we’ve been watching Cougar Town – Busy Philipps as Laurie Keller. She may be trashy, she may not be bright, but she’s relentlessly positive and really, really funny. It’s not too much of a stretch to imagine her as the grown-up version of Freaks’ Kim Kelly. While she still has bad taste in men, and now she drinks wine before noon, our little Kim turned out OK. By the way, we’re pretty sure that people have been misspelling her name for years and she’s just too nice to say anything.
