TV’s Moments of Joy: Kisses Feel Like Punishment

As for the real world, I already got my wish when Futurama returned this year.  And I kind of surprised myself when I didn’t answer with Arrested Development.  In my mind, much as I miss it, AD at least got a satisfying finale.  Instead, I’d bring back a show where they didn’t know they were cancelled until after the season was shot – Deadwood.  HBO’s revisionist Western was one of the best shows of the decade, with glorious storytelling and indelible characters.  And unfortunately, it was cancelled after only three seasons, despite its increasing mainstream profile.
