The Best Shows on TV

TV’s Moments of Joy – New Bacon-ings!

Louis C.K.:  Hilarious – This actually premiered last year, but only on those fancy premium channels.  This week, our favorite stand-up’s newest concert made it to Comedy Central.  His new set includes the “Everything is Awesome, but Nobody is Happy” bit that he did on a few talk shows last year, and it should really be required viewing.  He also talks about his divorce (“It’s like finding a whole lot of money in a currency that doesn’t exist anymore.”), language inflation, and the vague economy of the Old West, among others.  Since, according to Louis, “hilarious” should be reserved for “something so funny that you almost go insane”, and “amazing” only really applies if “Jesus returns to Earth and makes sweet love to you”, we don’t really have a good way to describe it.  So we’ll just say it was one of the best stand-up comedians in America at his absolute funniest.  It’s a performance that opens with Louis reminding his audience that they’re going to die at some point, and then segues into a list of differences between Sammy Davis Jr, and Hitler.  Clearly, this is something that you need to watch. Wipeout: The Game (Wii) Bob’s Burgers – FOX premiered a new animated series this week, and we absolutely love it.  Created by Loren Bouchard, who previously brought us Dr. Katz, Home Movies, and Lucy, Daughter of the Devil, Burgers focuses on the Belcher family, who run a small hamburger joint that’s celebrating its grand re-re-re-reopening on Labor Day weekend.  It’s all put in jeopardy by a vengeful health inspector and a rumor that Bob’s burgers are made with human remains.
