The Onion Sportsdome – This new Comedy Central show almost slipped under our radar. Brought to you by the people behind The Onion, this is a faux-sports news show. It really felt like America’s favorite satiric newspaper, with a story about an Ultimate Fighter banned from the sport because of his metal hands that “when swung with average power, exert a force approximately equal to being hit by a small car” and a play-by-play of a fight between a meth addict and some imaginary snakes. We even got some nice character gags, as two of the commentators passive-aggressively argued about whether “deets” is an acceptable shortening of “details”. Good stuff!
