TV’s Moments of Joy: Otev, the Broadway Clam

The Emmys – The real highlight had to be the opening number. Now, because NBC failed to actually secure the music rights for online distribution, they can’t make the clip available on the Web legitimately, and we’d prefer not to dig around in the seedy section of town to try and find an illegitimate copy. But for those of you who missed it, you’ll just have to imagine. Jimmy Fallon runs into some of the Glee kids (Rachel, Finn, Mercedes, and Kurt) who want to go to the Emmys, but they can’t afford tickets. Luckily, there’s a singing competition that will pay for their seats. Ultimately they end up with Tina Fey, Joel McHale, Betty White, Jon Hamm, Jorge Garcia, and Jane Lynch joining them for a performance of Springsteen’s “Born to Run”. It was hilarious and brilliantly executed, with lots of great bits. (Running away from Kate Gosselin, Tina and Jimmy getting Slushied…) We spent the whole segment freaking out over how much we loved it.
