So what made us smile this week? Well, we’re glad you asked!
Community – Well, the Paintball episode now has some competition for “Best Episode Ever”. In last Thursday’s episode, the study group ended up trapped in Greendale’s flight simulator (which was actually a Kentucky Fried Chicken promotional tool from the 80’s). The whole thing was completely absurd, from the Apollo 13 parodies to the control levers in the simulator labeled “herbs” and “spices”. And then there was the creepy Atari 2600-style image of Colonel Sanders, which freaked out Pierce and compelled him to try and strangle Troy. It was a plot that we can’t imagine any other network comedy even attempting, and Community just killed it with a terrific script and a density of visual jokes that rivals The Simpsons.
