The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret – That’s such a great title. Can you believe that we live in a world where there are two shows featuring the titanic twosome of Will Arnett and David Cross? It’s like we live in a utopian society!
This IFC comedy debuted on Friday, and it’s fantastic. Cross plays a temp who lies his way into a prestigious new job as the UK sales manager for a company that sells energy drinks. It’s only when he gets there that he discovers that his sales force consists of one guy who kind of hates him. Things keep getting worse for Todd, partly due to bad luck (the British police seizing and destroying his luggage) and partly due to his own terrible decisions (his public sales pitch which gets worse and worse as he downs more energy drinks). David Cross’ two funniest modes are “put-upon” and “strident”, and Todd Margaret manages to be both. The premiere was hilarious, and we especially loved Will Arnett as a foulmouthed CEO. It’s off the beaten path, but you should really check it out, Friday at 10 PM Eastern.
