Bob’s Burgers – In another funny outing, a documentary filmmaker tried to shame Bob by putting a live cow (inexplicably wearing a blond wig) out in front of the burger restaurant. We learned that there’s only one way to get a cow to go down stairs, and Louise spent the episode making emoticons out of poo, and we also got some great guest voices. The great Paul F. Tompkins voiced the filmmaker, spunkybuddy Todd Barry was the cow, and Brendon Smalls provided the voice of a surprisingly incompetent animal control officer. That last one made for a nice reunion, as Smalls co-created the cult favorite Home Movies with Bob creator Loren Bouchard, and Bob himself, H. Jon Benjamin starred in that show. There’s no Bob this week because of the Super Bowl, so you have time to catch up on Hulu or iTunes and report back to us. Conan–Patton Oswalt was on the show to promote his book Zombie Spaceship Wasteland this week, and cracked us up by talking about his experience in getting asked to read for the role of the gay best friend in an upcoming romcom, a part that we all know has simply become a huge cliche. Patton’s idea was that he wanted to play it as a dumb version of the stereotype; someone who couldn’t actually come up with quippy one-liners or witty comebacks for anything. We’d really like to see him take on that role one day. Hey, script idea!
