We continue our retro-recaps of Venture Bros. Season One episodes with Episode Four – “Eeny, Meeny, Miney… Magic!”. This is the episode that includes creator Jackson Publick’s favorite joke in the series, so you know it’s got to be good. Besides that, it’s the first appearance of Dr. Orpheus, Triana, and Molotov Cocktease. And it’s all powered by a forsaken child!
But before we get to it, there’s a podcast you might want to check out. I’m a big fan of War Rocket Ajax, a show where guys who really like Batman interview comic creators. A couple of weeks ago, though, they interviewed Dr. Venture himself, James Urbaniak! It’s a great interview – Urbaniak is hilarious, and he shares some awesome Venture tidbits. (Apparently, Girl Hitler was originally intended to be a major character. And Doc almost had Shore Leave’s voice.) It’s definitely worth a listen, and you can download it here.
