Venture Brothers — “Blood of the Father, Heart of Steel”
–Nice stuff in this scene – it lays down the rules for cloning, for one. Doc can only create a baby clone. He started the Hank and Dean clones years and years ago, and just downloads memories into them when he needs a new set. So it’s definitively clear that he can’t clone Hank and Dean again, unless he starts them over as babies. When 21 passes Hank, he makes a Highlander reference – last season, he sought out Hank to tell him that he was an immortal. After all, the previous Hank clone died when 21 shot it in the face, so he was understandably surprised to see Hank up and around. I also like Doc reminding Hank that his “safety net is gone”. Hank thinks he’s referring to Brock, because he still doesn’t realize that he’s a clone. (He thought the clone bodies were his birthday present, and that they’d be his servants.) It’s nice to see Doc actually concerned about him. Hank puts on Brock’s coat in this scene, and he wears it throughout the episode.
