Venture Brothers — “Blood of the Father, Heart of Steel”

–This was the first time we’ve seem SPHINX since a joke montage last season, so their presence here was pretty surprising. I’m a little surprised that Molotov was willing to try and kill Brock – she’s tried to kill him before, true. But she’s also babysat the boys when he had official business. And in some nice obscure references, all the hits Molotov and Hunter mention share names with the creators whose work appeared in Marvel Comics #1. The most audible references are Human Torch creator Karl Burgos, and Angel artist Paul Gustafson. Nice!
