Venture Brothers — “Blood of the Father, Heart of Steel”

I was going to try and avoid full recaps, but this week I think I’ll need to put the scenes in chronological order and make sense of the timeline. The thing to remember is that we’re seeing Hank and Dean’s scenes in reverse, and each one is introduced by a value counter that ranks the current status of 21’s copy of Marvel Comics #1, which keeps dropping. (Or increasing, since these scenes are aired in reverse order.) Brock’s scenes take place in chronological order, and each one is introduced with the title of a story that’s actually in Marvel Comics #1. In fact, I think they use the titles in the same order in which they appear in the actual comic book, which is a nice detail. I’m going to try to keep both threads in the same chronology, but the actual time elapsed between Brock’s scenes is a little fuzzy.
