Venture Brothers – Season Four Preview, Venture Bro
Brock Samson – Rather than explain Brock, I’m just going to direct you to his spot on our recent list of TV’s 100 Greatest Characters. That should tell you everything you need to know.
Season 3 was rough on Brock. He learned that the real reason he was assigned by the Office of Secret Intelligence (OSI) to be Doc’s bodyguard was to prevent Doc from discovering the secret of the Orb. Brock very nearly had to kill his friend in the interests of his country. In the season finale, he had to face three of the world’s greatest assassins, and while he managed to beat them all, it was closer than it should have been. OSI set out to bring him in, and after a battle royale between OSI and the Monarch’s henchmen, Brock finally had enough. He quit. He quit OSI, he quit being Venture’s bodyguard, he quit everything. I think Brock’s solo journey will probably be the most interesting part of the new season, but I’m worried about him. Not as worried as I am about the Ventures, of course. The only reason they survive past breakfast is that Brock has their back.
