What lies in the shadow of the statue? Well, I’m still not completely sure. Of course, I’m kind of hoping that it’s Vincent, Bernard, and Rose, just chilling out and waiting for the craziness to subside. Seriously, if I lived on the Island, I’d be asking about them all the time. Missing dog aside, there’s still a lot to consider from last week’s episode. So let’s get into lies, hieroglyphics, and cryptic questions.
I’m still trying to crack exactly when Benry is lying in the episode, but I’ll say he’s definitely lying to Locke when he claims that he knew the Island would bring him back. As the ending makes clear, he was planning to kill Locke all over again the next chance he got. It’s not certain yet whether he was lying when he said he came back to be judged, but I feel like that started out as a lie. I’m sure we’ll find out more later, but to me it really seemed like there was a moment when it clicked with him that he actually did deserve to be judged.
OK, there’s a lot of credit to be given out here, so I’m going to get right to it.
