Dethklok vs. The Goon (Dark Horse) – Given my love of TV and comic books and my lack of self-control, it’s no surprise that I’ve amassed quite a few TV-based comics over the years. The Shield, X-Files, Chuck, Stephen Colbert’s Tek Jansen, Fringe, 24 and more, including an old Welcome Back Kotter Treasury Edition, are all in my files. Now, some of these are reasonably good, most are mediocre, and a few are downright terrible. But this one-shot, which brings the heavy-metal stars of Adult Swim’s Metalocalypse to comics is the first one that’s perfect.
For those of you who don’t pay attention to awesome things, Metalocalypse chronicles the exploits of a bad described as “100 times more popular than the Beatles”. Dethklok makes up the world’s 7th largest economy all by themselves, and the release of their next album is predicted to end the recession.
