The series is written by Roger Langridge, who I’ve discussed here before for his stellar work on The Muppet Show series. His scripting here is really wonderful – there’s a level of emotional involvement that you don’t usually get with Thor, what with him being the god of thunder and all. He comes off as this kind, good-hearted guy, who’s also a good drinking buddy and can absolutely wreck a sea monster. I finish every issue with a big, dopey smile. This is my second-favorite series right now, trailing only whatever Batman book Grant Morrison is writing in any given month. It’s so good.
