Finally, DC brought the future Batman back in this miniseries, which has been successful enough that they’ve already announced an ongoing to follow. Written by Adam Beechen (who’s been a favorite ever since spunkybuddy Larry Young published his Hench graphic novel), with clean, expressive art by Ryan Benjamin, the series has been an absolute blast.
Terry is, by his very nature, a brighter character than Bruce Wayne, and Beechen does a great job of playing them against each other. For Terry, being Batman isn’t an obsession – he’s doing his best, but he wants a normal life. Bruce absolutely doesn’t understand that, and it pisses him off. I love that. It was my favorite thing about the show, and it’s done brilliantly here.
