Lex is one of my favorite DC characters, and my favorite villain who is not the Joker, and it’s so much fun to see him headlining a series that doesn’t focus on why he hates Superman and how he hates Superman and what he could be doing if he weren’t so busy hating Superman. That’s almost every Luthor story right there, but so far, there’s been hardly a mention of the Last Son of Krypton. It makes him more interesting, and it gives them the chance to take advantage of some other sections of the DC Universe. We’ve seen Lex team-up with Superman’s other enemies a thousand times. What we haven’t seen is him go up against Gorilla Grodd (and his “combat spoon”). Taking Superman off the board may result in some lackluster Superman stories, but it makes for awesome Lex Luthor stories.
