**I’ve seen Up a bunch of times now, and I just noticed something.The bird skeleton in the newsreel at the beginning doesn’t look exactly like Kevin.The skeleton has pretty prominent arm-claws, for one thing.Plot-wise, I think this is fairly important.I like to think it means that Muntz did fake the skeleton at the beginning.This makes him to blame for his own fall.It wasn’t a skeptical scientific community that ruined him – he ruined himself.I think he based the skeleton on a bird he saw, but couldn’t catch, so he didn’t get all the details exactly right.Also, did anyone notice that Muntz’ first initials, C.F., are the same as the initials of Up protagonist Carl Fredricksen.That has to be intentional, right?
