6. 30 Rock – This is very nearly the perfect comedy. Sharp and witty with a strong sense of the surreal, Tina Fey and co. do their part to fill the void left by Arrested Development. (Mark my words, “Werewolf Bar Mitzvah” is the new “Big Yellow Joint”.) It’s the fastest moving comedy on TV, and the cast is perfect, from Fey and Alec Baldwin all the way to Grizz and Dot-Com. NBC has the best comedy line-up on TV, and almost every week, the single biggest laugh comes from 30 Rock.
5. Heroes – Despite a slow start to the season (which, as I do not grow tired of pointing out, was also the case for Season One), Heroes is one show that delivers great payoffs. Sure, we groaned when it looked like Season Two was building to another ‘destruction of New York’ scenario, but they kept it new and exciting, and always surprising. Every week, at the end of the episode, I’m all charged up like a little kid again. And just for the record, no matter who you are, Bennett is way cooler than you.
