FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY (The X-Files) – Are you kidding me with this one? Not many sci-fi series ever attain mainstream popularity. X-Files had higher ratings than any incarnation of Star Trek. Until the series got bogged down in its own mythology, it was essentially an ongoing debate between the believer and the skeptic. Mulder and Scully were a bigger draw than any UFO sighting or chupacabra. I’m honestly mystified that they didn’t make the list.
HEAD CRUSHER (The Kids in the Hall) – This one’s pretty hard to defend, but just think how much more exciting the list would have been if Mark McKinney’s character had made an appearance.
