THE “AM I STILL ON THIS SHOW?” AWARD FOR REDUCED SCREEN TIME – The Draper divorce was a major element of this season of Mad Men, but it wasn’t the kind of thing that required January Jones’ Betty Draper to appear all that often. Her appearances this season were cut way back, and when she did appear, she was busy being awful to her children and/or husband. She did good work, but she didn’t fit into the Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce storylines that dominated the year.
She shares this award with Saturday Night Live’s Abby Elliott. Usually when somebody gets promoted to a regular cast member on SNL, they appear on the show more often, not less. Other than her Rachel Maddow impression, she hasn’t been much more than a glorified extra at this point. (And also, we think Nasim Pedrad is much funnier. That slot was hers, dammit!)
