Andy Bernard: It’s hard to believe, but Ed Helms’ character has become the new emotional center of the show. Jim and Pam are happily married, so while there are still stories to tell, the conflict is minimal. But Andy’s still hurting from his break-up with Erin, he’s got issues with her new boyfriend Gabe, he’s coming to grips with the fact that he’s a terrible salesman – he’s the only character on the show who’s as tortured as Michael. I think he’s be an interesting choice – Michael was an excellent salesman who made for an awful boss. Andy’s a bad salesman. Who knows what kind of manager he’d be? He’s got enough depth to anchor the show, and he’s crazy enough to keep things interesting. Of the current regulars, I think he’d make the best and most likely choice. But I think there’s one possible spoiler…
