Jan Levinson: Maybe it’s just wishful thinking. I mean, it’s ridiculous that Melora Hardin isn’t a series regular 
somewhere. (Back when they announced an Office spinoff, I really wanted the series to be about Jan. But then it turned out to not be a spinoff but instead be Parks and Recreation. Which is awesome.) She’s made a couple of appearances this season, and we’ve seen that she’s doing well for herself. But a single mother is going to open up completely different kinds of stories than Michael Scott ever did. And she is insane enough to build episodes around, as we’re reminded whenever she appears. For Sabre’s purposes, she has management experience and familiarity with the company. Branch Manager Jan would make for a very different show, but heading in to the eighth season, that might not be such a bad thing.
